Boarding Breakout What is it? Boarding breakout is a program for volunteers to take a dog out of boarding for the day, overnight, a few nights, you choose! You will pick up and drop off from one of our boarding locations in Wilsonville, Chelsea, or Hoover. When can I do it? Almost anytime! Each facility has different hours of operation for picking up and dropping off, but this program is available 7 days/week. Can I choose which dog I take? Absolutely! We may suggest certain dogs depending on if you have other pets in the home and your lifestyle, but almost all of our dogs in boarding would benefit from the opportunity to spend one on one time with a new person and get “out of the house”! Where should I take my boarding breakout dog? Each dog has different needs and personalities. Our more social dogs would love a walk around the park, to go for a hike, or maybe earn a special treat! Other dogs may just like to lounge at your house and relax as they get to know you and you them. Bailey, one of our recently adopted dogs, pictured below enjoy a wonderful Boarding Breakout Day at Oak Mountain!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: REGINA
This Summer we’d like to introduce you to Regina who started volunteering with All The Dogs in March of this year. Regina has helped with transport, events, breakouts, fostering, and other areas as needed. Regina saw a post on Facebook (sharing our posts is so important and leads us to wonderful people - like Regina!) about Rocky needing a foster and she stepped up to help! Regina and her husband have 1 cat (Logan) and three dogs (Olivia - Boykin Spaniel, Sequoia - Husky, Autumn Grace - rat terrier/chihuahua mix) and they also count Rocky as part of their pack…if only temporarily. Her favorite dogs that we have up for adoption right now are Rocky (of course) and Ruston. She is also fostering Willow who she describes as adorable, sweet, cuddly and a love bug. She as has Cedar who is quiet, but inquisitive and curious. Regina is a commercial sales rep for a local security firm. In her downtime she enjoys spending time with her husband and animals and traveling. Her goal is to be meaningful and helpful to the things she invests her time and effort to. All of us at ATD agree that she is definitely living up to her goal! Thank you, Regina, for all that you do for us and for the dogs.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: SAVANNAH
Savannah has been volunteering with us since the very beginning. She loves to volunteer with All The Dogs because she feels like it gives her a purpose. She loves her dog, Nabula, who was on the euthanasia list at a local county shelter. She states that if one of our volunteers (thank you, Liz!) hadn’t fostered her she would not have made it out of the shelter. All The Dogs is giving other “unwanted” dogs a chance for their family to find them before their time at the shelter gets cut short and she loves that mission! She is so glad that she got involved for the dogs, but also for herself. She has made the most beautiful friends that she now claims as family. Thank you, Savannah, for your passion and the positive energy that you bring to our ATD family!

WE ARE STILL ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR OUR SWEET ELLIE Ellie is a sweet one-year-old girl who has a friendly and playful personality. Ellie needs surgery on two legs to ensure she has the best quality of life she deserves. Ellie needs MPL & CLC surgery which will cost approximately $10,000. Please consider a donation to help us meet our goal. We (literally) can’t do this without your generous donations. Even $5 helps and adds up. Please help us, help Ellie.

HAPPY TAILSThe best tales are happy tails. Smile as you scroll through these pictures of dogs that are here because someone stepped up to say, “I can be their person and love them forever.” Thank you to all of our recent adopters.

THE COST OF BOARDING AND CARE
All the Dogs is a rescue organized to pull dogs directly from local shelters that are at high risk of euthanasia. We then take those dogs and place them into boarding with one of our boarding partners. We have trainers evaluate the dogs for behavior with humans and other dogs and then we attempt to place them in foster homes until they are adopted. The cost of boarding a dog averages $25/per day ($1,450 a week for the 58+ dogs currently in our care). Our boarding partners work with the rescue to keep rates as low as possible. However, boarding and housing is still a cost. Our boarding partners provide safe housing for our dogs as well as beds, blankets, daily cleaning and playtime. Food is provided by the rescue as well as treats and toys. All vet care, preventatives and medications are provided as well but are not a part of our boarding costs. Further enrichment, such as walks, certain toys, various playtimes, etc. are also offered at an additional cost to the rescue and are often covered by additional donors.
